Second-hand Fashion

Couple days ago, I did web-surfing and found some interesting pages about consumerism, fashion, and environment. This video also makes me think thousand times to buy a new thing that I don't really need.

I was stumbled upon a page suggest second-hand shop as one strategy we can employ to fulfill our fashion need but respect the environment at the same time; and find myself very happy because I'm actually a fan of second-hand shops and admire vintage fashion (I mean I love seeing them but t-shirt, jeans and sneakers are the ones who understand me well). We also know it as charity shop or op(portunity) shop or thrift shop.

Thus, I wanna share a bit of my wardrobe's residents that I adopted from second-hand shops. It's noteworthy that most of them cost only 99p or IDR 17.000 per piece! Well, some of them I bought here, but some of them I bought many years ago in Indonesia. Compare to Indonesia, second-hand shop in the UK or Aussie (particularly Brisbane), they really take care the shops and it's really well-organized. Most of the staffs are volunteers. The profit also usually goes to charity.

In contrary, in Indonesia you can find a very big second-hand market but sometimes you have to dig into the piles to find your treasure. It's also profit based. It's been one of my dream that we can have this kind of charity-shop in Indonesia.

In those pictures, I wear the same shoes. I just realize that actually I can go with only one pair of shoes for all of my clothes, why should buy many other pairs? Hahaha.

Well, overall, shopping in second-hand shop bring me a lot of happiness, tho. What is more exciting than buying beautiful outfit without throwing up much money, taking care of the environment and donating at the same time?

Enjoy the weekend folks!
